When you self-publish your book through KDP, you’ll get a prompt for the Amazon Keywords, and this post will show you how to do it!

I know the feeling. It’s akin to a calf staring at a new gate. Writers often ask, “What are keywords, and how do I pick 7?”
Dave Chesson, a bona fide Amazon expert, will answer your questions and help you sell more books.
Use Publisher Rocket to Find Amazon Keywords
I’m posting Dave’s latest video below.
But first, the Publisher Rocket app is like a Swiss army knife. You can discover author competition, genre insights, book titles, Amazon Keywords, and much more. For instance, here’s how I use it for research.
If you think it’s expensive, it’s not — I bought it years ago and received free updates ever since.
How to Fill in Your 7 Amazon Keywords
Dave speaks fast, so plan on more than one viewing of his video.
Chesson and his team give timely updates. Also, what I love about the videos, Dave breaks it down but does not dumb it down. He and the team routinely create and update the most amazing how-to videos.
That’s important because as writers, the infrastructure at Amazon changes faster than Taylor Swift’s outfits between songs.
Conclusion: Optimize Amazon Keywords
Many ask, “Can I do this without buying Publisher Rocket?”
Well, you can, but… I’ve tried doing this manually. It’s a pain in the kazoo, and most importantly, I don’t think my hours of manual efforts came even close to what I achieved in minutes using Publisher Rocket.
My goal today is not to convince you to buy Publisher Rocket (although I think it’s worth every penny of the price). Instead, I want to make you aware of how you can use this powerful tool for much more than selecting keywords.
By the way, I believe so much in this app that I became an affiliate. The product and support are that good (and if you haven’t guessed by now, I’m really picky!). And don’t worry about the affiliate relationship because if you decide to buy, you’ll pay the same whether it’s through my site or direct.
Here’s Dave.

I get that. Doing anything for the first time can be intimidating, not to mention trying to understand the vocabulary and process.
Grant, thank you for this post. I’ve been considering self publishing for a while, but haven’t heard many positive things in the past. I’m wondering if those who spoke were not up on this part of the process.
You’re welcome, Hope. It’s easier than most think, but at first, the jargon makes it sound complicated.
Good post. I always struggle with the keywords.
The capability of Publisher Rocket reduces that chore to minutes instead of hours or even days. I’m not stretching it when I call it the Swiss army knife for research and marketing.
